Last night I was duped into watching The Mirror Has Two Faces, Barbra Streisand’s 1996 directorial turn, which she also produced and starred in. Not a classic horror formula, but with a title like that, I still had hope.
Jeff Bridges turns up pretty much straight away. He doesn’t do a ton of psychological horror, but he was in The Vanishing, so it’s not an immediate red flag.
126 minutes later; not a single supernatural occurrence, just a charming comedy-drama that may have made me like Barbra Streisand. Not a waste of an evening but a waste of an excellent film title. Next you’ll tell me The Town That Dreaded Sundown is a courtroom drama with Reese Witherspoon.
Maybe tomorrow I’ll post a comic version of what I thought The Mirror Has Two Faces should have been.
